Speakers Corner – Mary Freer

As it gets closer to our inaugural Don’t Forget The Bubbles conference in Brisbane later this year we thought it about time we showcased some of the amazing and inspiring speakers we have lined up for you.  Coming from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences we hope that they will help us all become better at looking after unwell children and better at looking after each other.

Mary has contributed to Australia’s healthcare system reform in a variety of executive and leadership roles over the last 20 years. She is the Founder of Change Day Australia and works closely with health improvement leaders in many countries across the world to bring about global improvements to our health and social care systems.
Mary has held positions with national government and not for profit health care  and social welfare services, including women’s and community health services, HealthDirect Australia, the Department of the Premier and Cabinet in South Australia, Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation and Health Workforce Australia.

In 2016  Mary was awarded a Westpac Bicentennial Foundation Social Change Fellowship. This enabled Mary to travel throughout Europe and the US meeting with leaders who are committed to creating a more compassionate healthcare system. Mary is a Social Innovator with Freerthinking, a dynamic enterprise to grow social change. In 2017 Mary launched the Compassion Lab, a space where leaders can learn how to bring their whole selves to work in the pursuit of compassionate leadership.
