Deb Shellshear: Procedural sedation at DFTB17

SHARE VIA:

This talk was recorded live on the second day at DFTB17 in Brisbane. If you missed out in 2017 then why not book your leave for 2018 now. Tickets are on sale for the pre-conference workshops as well as the conference itself at www.dftb18.com.

Things have moved on from the days of Brutaine – holding a child down whilst trying to whip a piece of crumbling blue crayon from their snotty nostril. Now, we have a cornucopia of pharmacological agents to assist us – from ketamine and midazolam to chloral and propofol. But who should we use them with? Or, perhaps more importantly, who should we avoid them with? What precautions do we need to take to make sure that everything is just plain sailing? Listen to Deb Shellshear tell you how to make life just that little bit easier.

You can listen to this talk as you walk to work on any device that supports podcasts.

Our artist-in-residence, Grace Leo, has drawn this beautiful summary for you…

Nikki Abela also interviewed Deb after she gave her talk. You can listen to that on the RCEM Learning podcast.
