Bec Nogajski: Better Supervision at DFTB17

SHARE VIA:

This talk was recorded live on the first day at DFTB17 in Brisbane.

Bec Nogajski is a Director of Training and Paediatric Emergency Physician. In this talk, she brings her experience supervising many trainees (including Tessa Davis) to the audience. It is not about providing negative or positive feedback but developmental feedback. It’s about creating a safe and supportive culture and being a positive role model at all times.

Providing meaningful feedback can be a real challenge, especially if you are the sort of person that likes to avoid conflict. So what do you do if you’ve been asked to do something tough? Bec talks about about the Case of the Malodorous Medic – the trainee with body odour issues.

You’ll have to listen to the whole talk to find out how she does it.

You can listen to this talk as you walk to work on any device that supports podcasts.
