Since we started in 2013, the DFTB team has steadily grown. We are always looking for enthusiastic people to join us so please get in touch. This is what we are all about…

Editorial Policy

All our papers undergo peer review and then a further review by the editorial team. Our team is based mainly in the UK and Australia but we accept submissions from authors globally.

Executive Team

Tessa DavisCo-Founder. Tessa Davis is a PEM Consultant at the Royal London Hospital and a Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London. Tessa tries to spend time with her three kids in between shifts.

Andrew TaggCo-Founder and Website Editor In Chief. An Emergency Physician with a special interest in education and lifelong learning. When not drinking coffee and reading Batman comics he is playing with his children.

Kat Priddis – Kat is a consultant in paediatric emergency medicine, with a passion for trauma care. Trauma director for her Trust, she also is completing an MSc in trauma sciences. She loves tech in med, star ships and coffee. As Janeway said ‘there’s coffee in that nebula!.

Dani Hall – PEM consultant with a love of education, organising and delivering PEM education at local and national levels. Passionate about advocating for children and young people. Loves good coffee, a good story and her family.

Becky Platt – Becky is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner at the Royal London Hospital.


Research Team

Damian RolandKnowledge Translation Lead. Damian is a Consultant at the University of Leicester NHS Trust and Honorary Associate Professor for the University of Leicester’s SAPPHIRE group. He specialises in Paediatric Emergency Medicine and is a passionate believer that education exists to be shared (#foamed)

Dani Hall – PEM consultant with a love of education, organising and delivering PEM education at local and national levels. Passionate about advocating for children and young people. Loves good coffee, a good story and her family.


Media Team

Jessica WongGraphics and Social Media. Jessica Wong: Jessica is a junior doctor passionate about paediatrics, psychiatry and rural health. She enjoys learning new languages, ice skating and working as a wedding musician in her spare time.

Grace Leo – Grace is a Paediatric Registrar at Sydney Children’s Hospital. She loves innovative medical education and paediatrics. She is on the organising committee for the DFTB19 and SMACC conferences. She enjoys board games, cooking and cheesy jokes.

Alice MunroVideos. Alice Munro is an Emergency Medicine trainee with a special interest in Paediatrics. She enjoys dancing, bullet journals and board games that turn people against each other. She lives in London with her girlfriend Izo.

Izolda BiroVideos. Izolda Biro is a clinical fellow in Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine, although her dreams lie outside the hospital walls. She’s a self-professed expert in coffee and videography. When not commuting south of the Thames she likes beating her girlfriend Alice at board games.

Charlotte DurandGraphics and Social Media. Charlotte is a junior doctor interested in disaster, remote and retrieval emergency medicine. She is passionate about improving teamwork and communication in stressful situations. When not at work, Charlotte can be found swimming, cycling and running around the Sunshine Coast.

Nigel TaylorGraphics and Social Media. Worked as an NHS in-house designer for 10 years creating websites, apps and graphics. Now I’m a Director, designer and creator at Strata5 Ltd, generating designs for clients worldwide.

Chantel Preston. Chantel is an Occupational Therapist, Artist and master of the Baby Shark Dance. After 6 years working in a Children’s Museum in Tennessee, she made to move to Australia to embrace the ‘shoes are optional’ lifestyle of the Gold Coast. She currently works part time in Aged Care as a balance to her ‘days off’ which are spent chasing and wrangling a 1 and 3 year old.

Emma Hudson. Emma is an Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner currently working in Derby Children’s Accident and Emergency department, always excited to create new designs and ways to share education and learning. When not at work she can be found dress designing, sewing and generally loving life with her 3 children and husband Matt.


Curriculum Mapping Team

Dani HallExecutive Director. PEM consultant with a love of education, organising and delivering PEM education at local and national levels. Passionate about advocating for children and young people. Loves good coffee, a good story and her family.

Calvin Skews. Calvin is a Paediatric resident based in Queensland, Australia. When not on the wards, you will find Calvin on a bushwalk, at the beach, or sipping coffee while enjoying a good book.

Jessica Hawkins. I am a medical student from The University of Queensland with a keen interest in paediatrics and all of the wonderful joy and bubbles that it brings. I have a passion for all things sweet (brownies especially), enjoy experimenting with watercolour painting, and indulging in the perfect wine and cheese combo!

Emma Chan. Emma is a graduating medical student and soon to be intern at Logan Hospital, QLD. She loves all things paediatrics and emergency medicine, with a growing interest in medical education and global aid. When procrastinating her studies, she instructs group fitness classes at various gyms and peruses Broadsheet and Urbanlist on the daily to find the latest cafes and restaurants to try.

Barbara Jedelsky. My name is Barbara and I will be commencing my Intern year in Cairns in January 2020. When not working, you can find me at the beach, and enjoying spending time with family friends.


Bubble Wrap Team

Vicki Currie Bubble Wrap Lead Vicki is a Paediatric Registrar in the West Midlands in the UK, starting PEM in September 2021. Vicki is passionate about good communication in teams and with patients along with teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. When not editing Bubble wrap Vicki can be found running with her cocker spaniel Scramble or endlessly chatting with friends.

Anke Raaijmakers heads up the Bubble Wrap Plus team bringing us a regular collection of all the paediatric papers that are fit to print


Board of Directors

Henry Goldstein – Co-Founder and Chief Executive. A Paediatric Trainee based in Queensland, Australia, Henry is passionate about Adolescent Medicine. An admitted nerd & ironman with a penchant for Rubik’s Cubes & ‘Dad jokes’.
