We cannot wait for DFTB18 and it is shaping up to be awesome. Every now and then we get an e-mail or two from would-be delegates so we thought we would put together a brief FAQ for you all…

Who is the conference aimed at?

Simply put, DFT18 is aimed after anyone that looks after children. You could work in primary care, pre-hospital or hospital based medicine and we can guarantee you’ll find something to interest you.

Is DFTB18 going to be ‘all style and no substance’?

Our theme for DFTB18 is ‘Science + Story’ because we believe that storytelling and science are both needed to help us deliver the best care we can to our patients.

Our programme will have non-clinical content aimed at inspiring you to be better at your job. There will also be plenty of clinical/science content to keep you up-to-date with best practice.

How do I get a ticket?

Tickets will go on sale at 0900 AEST on 1st November 2017.

We are going to put a limit on the number of attendees at 600 (there were 420 last year). Our reasons for this is that we want to keep DFTB18 feeling like a close-knit and friendly community and don’t want to get carried away with huge numbers. So it’s possible that some people will miss out on tickets.

How much will tickets cost?

Tickets for the main conference will cost $1200 and will include admission for the full three days of the conference (27th-29th August) and a ticket for the Welcome Reception on Monday 27th August. We are able to offer a limited number of discounted registrations for nursing staff or allied health professionals, and a limited number of discounted registrations for junior doctors. These discounted registrations will cost $900.

Ticket for each workshop will vary and will be in the region of $150-200 per half day workshop.

Is it a four day conference?

The main conference will run from Monday to Wednesday 27th-29th August 2018. Sunday 26th August will be a workshop day.

How will the workshop day work?

Sunday 26th August 2018 is our workshop day. We will run five workshops in the morning and five in the afternoon. You can choose to buy a ticket for any workshops that interest you. There will be limited numbers of tickets available as we want to the delegates to get as much as possible out of the workshops.

What about social events?

There will be plenty of opportunity to meet and socialise with the other DFTB18 delegates. More details will follow and tickets to these events will be available at the time you buy your DFTB18 ticket. We’ve also got some other surprise events planned but you’ll have to watch this space.

I can’t make it to DFTB18? Are you going to record the talks?

Absolutely. DFTB was founded on the principles of FOAMed and we aim to keep it that way. If you want to catch up with the DFTB17 talks you can watch the videos here and you can also subscribe to our audio podcast here.

I’ve got this great idea for a talk…

Excellent, you can pitch your talks to us and we are happy to consider all options. We are currently putting together the full programme so email us by mid October if you would like to speak – hello@dontforgetthebubbles.com
